WHAT IS GOUT 

   Gout is a type of arthritis that is characterized by increase level of uric acid in the blood that precipitate in the joints causing arthritis and in kidiney causing Kidney stone.

Symptoms 

                         1.Pain in joint

                         2.Swelling in joint

                         3.Redness in joint 

                         4.Tenderness in joint

                         5.Difficulty in movements 


TREATMENT OF GOUT

              There are two types of Gout and hence two different types of treatment and management 

             • Acute Gout 
             • Chronic Gout 

  

 PRESCRIPTION WRITING FOR ACUTE GOUT        

         RX

                • Tab: Any NSAIDS (declofenac Na) 50mg ×TDS -7 days

               •Tab: steroid (Prednisolone) 1mg/kg ×TDS -7 days


               • Tab: Cholchicine 0.6mg×BD -14 days 
     

       • Instructions:

                  Avoid red meat, pulses
                  Drink Excessive water
                  Do perform some exercise 



PRESCRIPTION WRITING FOR CHRONIC GOUT     

          RX    

                • Tab: Allopurinol 100mg ×1×BD 
                                                   ⬇️
                                                300 mg×1×BD


                • Tab: Febuxostat  40mg ×1×BD
                                                  ⬇️
                                                120 mg×1×BD


                Tab: Cholchicine 0.6mg×BD -14 days 
  

       • Instructions

                  Avoid red meat, pulses
                  Drink Excessive water
